I have spent the last month offline. No regular updates. No blogging. Little e-mail. Just keeping a low e-profile.
For one thing, I have been just too busy. We have had Christmas after all. And then, just when it seemed that life should calm down, all the pieces fall back into place, we had Maggie's fourth birthday and my mom and brother and sister all come to visit. So between holidays and company, snow days and vacation days, I just haven't found many free moments.
Plus, we lost our computer in the midst of it all. RIP HP desktop.
After waiting and working, and internet quirks, and loading programs, and transferring memory, I have a functional laptop (which is actually an exciting improvement over the family desktop). Now I can actually download my photos and run Photoshop on the same computer. Plus, I can write in various locations around the house, so I am hoping to pick back up with my blogging as well as other electronic tasks.
The problem is that after all that has happened, all the celebrating and gifting, and the holidays and the stomach flu, all the visitors and adventures, I am actually completely uninspired about what to write. I have little desire to re-hash the last month. It was fun; it was crazy; it was festive; it was rich. But, personally, I love the barren, dullness of January just as much as I anticipate the overflowing of fun of December.
I really enjoy taking my tree down, just as much as putting it up. I like vacuuming up the last pine needle, packing up the final holiday implement and regarding my empty house. I like the calmer, dark evenings with little going on. And, I am hoping for a few more of them in the next couple of weeks.
So, I will post my quick, obligatory synopsis of the holidays I missed, and hope that next week I will be graced with more intellect and energy. For now, I am going to try to soak in what little down-time there may be with three kids in my house.

Enjoy every minute of the down time!!! You deserve it. I wish we could have seen you guys, but I am glad the holidays were a success. I sure hope you all remain healthy now fora good long time. Love Ya!
I feel so much the same way!! I told Kurt not long ago that I love January because there is nothing going on. Enjoy it my friend! Did I ever tell you that Scott and his family moved to Great Falls, VA? Is that near you? If so, we need to come and see you next time we are visiting them!
